Monet - detail of painting

The thick gobs of pale yellow sunlight on these turkeys are just delicious!

Pierre Bonnard - detail of painting

Love this cat!

Notre Dame from the rear

Check out those flying buttresses and the lush vegetation adorning this grande dame.

Lots and lots of yummy, chewy carbs!

The French know how to live, that's for sure. Everywhere, you see people walking around with their daily bread poking out of a satchel - usually a long baguette like these fine examples.

Le Deux Magots and Cafe Flore

Two famous spots to sip an expensive drink and watch the world go by.

Breathtaking colors and textures!

Stripes are de rigueur . . .

A trio of men in red and blue horizontal stripes and a motorcycle - a common sight only in Paris!

Place du Tertre

This famous square is packed with artists selling their mostly kitschy wares. There are also a number of sketch artists, of varying skill levels, who hustle to draw your portrait. I had a hat on, which I would advise against wearing if you are not interested in being drawn since it drew a disproportionate amount of interest!

La Bonne Franquette

This Montmartre restaurant was a hangout for the Impressionist era painters and is still in operation today!

Artist's Studios in Montmartre - Impressionist Era

Note the high north windows - not much floor space though!
